MEYY is a multi-disciplinary London-based artist born of Belgian and South Korean heritage. She’s a singer, songwriter, producer & dancer. From a young age she trained her body as an instrument in contemporary dance and taught herself how to play the piano and guitar. At the age of 16 she started writing her debut EP ‘Spectrum’ in her bedroom and released it in 2020 without any big label push, amassing over 500.000 streams in 1 year. During the pandemic and in between her civil engineering studies, she dived into the world of art and photography and discovered a passion for creative direction. Her next releases ‘Famous’ and ‘Orchids’ were accompanied by mesmerising visuals, co-directed by MEYY, showing a strong command of her creativity and aesthetic vision. With her atmospheric, ethereal R&B sonics and sensual lyrics, MEYY seduces and fills her audience with melancholy. The sharpened electronic tones in her productions contrast perfectly with the effortless humanity of her vocal. ‘Orchids’, ‘hyli’ and ‘Do It’ featuring the French Joanna are MEYY’s first 3 chapters of her upcoming EP ‘Neon Angel’. ‘Rain’ featuring British rapper Jelani Blackman will be the final story of her highly anticipated second EP. Released in the immediate aftermath of MEYY’s integration into the London scene, ‘Neon Angel’ is a landmark EP for this fast-rising artist. Accolades for MEYY continue to pile up; winning the Red Bull Elektropedia Award for ‘Most Promising Artist’; described by CLASH Magazine as ‘a riveting watch’; selected as ‘Artist in Residence’ by venue Botanique Brussels and chosen as a ‘Artist To Watch’ by Knack Focus Magazine, Fifty Lab Festival and La Vague Parallele
