Jazz is alive, jazz swings, jazz bubbles and fizzes like never before. With the funky album Artificial Horizon, TaxiWars also reinvented itself after a long hiatus. Surfing on the waves of the London jazz scene, which is under the influence of groups and artists like KOKOROKO, Alfa Mist and Nubya Garcia on an unprecedented rise, TaxiWars adds an extra dimension to the Belgian jazz landscape.

The intense collaboration between front man Tom Barman, saxophonist Robin Verheyen, bassist Nicolas Thys and drummer Antoine Pierre results in an innovative mix that rises above all genres. Jazz, rock, hip-hop, electronica, poetry ... TaxiWars is all of them. Besides innovation, the project with which Barman fulfilled a dream of many years' standing also builds on the rich jazz tradition of the early sixties. Influences of jazz greats like Archie Shepp, Charles Mingus and Pharaoh Sanders are never far away.

TaxiWars exudes the love of Barman and his top musicians for both jazz and experiment. It makes their show an experience that continues to surprise.
